ubio quickVET One Step CMPT Ag Test Kit is a qualitative immunochromatographic assay for the detection of CMPT antigen in avian cloaca within just 10 minutes.

CMPT, or Chlamydia psittaci, is a lethal intracellular bacterial species that causes endemic avian chlamydiosis, epizootic outbreaks in mammals, and respiratory psittacosis in humans. It is transmitted by inhalation, contact or ingestion among birds and to mammals. Psittacosis in birds and in humans often starts with flu-like symptoms and becomes a life-threatening pneumonia.It is often systemic and infections can be inapparent, severe, acute or chronic with intermittent shedding.



ubio quickVET One Step CMPT Ag Test is a lateral flow assay designed so that even a technician with limited expertise can perform the test easily. The veterinarian or the technician uses the swab supplied along with the kit to collect samples from cloaca. The swab is then inserted into the assay tube containing 4 drops of diluent A. After intensive extrusion for 1 min, 4 drops of diluent B is added. 3 drops of the sample is then added to the sample hole. Results can be read in just 10 minutes - the control line, marked C, should always appear if the test procedure is performed properly and the test reagents are working. The appearance of a red test line, marked T, indicates a positive result.



ubio quickVET One Step CMPT Ag assay is available in 10-test packs. The packs contain swabs, droppers, sample collection tubes and assay diluents required to perform the test. One test card can be used for screening one bird, and it is disposed after use.
