ubio quickVET Bovine Tuberculosis Antibody Rapid Test Kit
is a qualitative immunochromatographic assay for the detection of antibody to M. bovis in blood in just 5-10 minutes.
Bovine Tuberculosis is a contagious, debilitating disease of both humans and animals, caused by Mycobacterium bovis (M. bovis). The primary site of infection is the lymph nodes, but spread to other organs such as the lungs will occur as the disease progresses. Clinical signs of the disease include weakness, loss of appetite, weight loss and fever. Bovine TB is a chronic disease, and infected animals may take several years to develop clinical signs or may show no evidence of infection. Healthy cattle and humans will be infected through the respiratory passage or digestive tract by contaminated air, feed, or water.

ubio quickVET Bovine TB Rapid test is a lateral flow assay designed so that even a technician with limited expertise can perform the test easily. The veterinarian or the technician draws blood from the animal using a syringe or a vacutainer, optionally coated with a clot-activator for faster serum separation. The syringe is kept till the serum separates, and then, 3 drops of serum are added to the sample hole on the test card using a dropper. The results can be read in just 5-10 minutes - the control line, marked C, should be always appear if the test procedure is performed properly and the test reagents are working. A red test line, marked T, will be visible if there are enough Bovine TB antibodies in the serum sample.

ubio quickVET Bovine TB assay is available in 10-test packs, each containing 10 test cards, droppers and small centrifuge tubes. A test card can be used for screening one animal, and it is disposed after use.
