ubio quickVET Canine Distemper Virus Antigen Rapid Test Kit is a qualitative immunochromatographic assay for the detection of Canine Distemper Virus antigen in canine respiratory tract secretions or blood in just 5-10 minutes.

Canine Distemper, is a highly contagious disease affecting dogs. The disease spreads through bodily secretions and excretions, especially respiratory secretions The first symptom of distemper is eye discharge that appear watery to pus-like. Subsequently, dogs develop fever, nasal discharge, coughing, lethargy, reduced appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. In later stages, the virus may attack the nervous system, bringing about seizures, twitching, or partial or complete paralysis.



ubio quickVET Canine Distemper Virus Rapid test is a lateral flow assay designed so that even a technician with limited expertise can perform the test easily. The veterinarian or the technician uses the swab supplied along with the kit to draw eye mucus from conjuctiva or secretions from nasal cavity. The swab is dipped in the diluent supplied with the assay and it is used to agitate the diluent so that enough sample is extracted. The diluent is allowed to settle, and 3 drops are poured into the sample hole on the test card using the supplied dropper. Results can be read in just 5-10 minutes - the control line, marked C, should be always appear if the test procedure is performed properly and the test reagents are working. A red test line, marked T, will be visible if enough Canine Distemper Virus antigen is present in the sample.



ubio quickVET Canine Distemper Virus assay is available in 10-test, 5-test and single-test packs. The packs contain swabs, droppers, sample collection tube and assay diluent required to perform the test. One test card can be used for screening one animal, and it is disposed after use.
