ubio quickVET Canine Ehrlichia Antibody Rapid Test Kit is a qualitative immunochromatographic assay for the detection of Canine Ehrlichiosis antibodies in whole blood, serum or plasma within just 5-10 minutes.

Canine Ehrlichiosis is a tick-borne disease affecting dogs usually caused by the organism Ehrlichia canis. There are three stages of ehrlichiosis, each varying in severity. The acute stage, occurring several weeks after infection and lasting for up to a month, can lead to fever and lowered peripheral blood cell counts due to bone marrow suppression. The subclinical stage has no outward signs and can last for the remainder of the dog's life, during which the dog remains infected with the organism. The chronic stage results in very low blood cell counts, bleeding, bacterial infection, lameness, neurological and ophthalmic disorders, kidney disease and even death.

Canine Ehrlichiosis test card

ubio quickVET Canine Ehrlichiosis Antibody Rapid test is a lateral flow assay designed so that even a technician with limited expertise can perform the test easily. The veterinarian or the technician draws blood from the animal using a syringe, and then, 1 drop of blood is added to the sample hole on the test card using a dropper. After waiting for complete absorption, 1 drop of the diluent(supplied with the assay) is also added to the sample hole. Results can be read in just 5-10 minutes - the control line, marked C, should always appear if the test procedure is performed properly and the test reagents are working. A red test line, marked T, will be visible if enough Canine Ehrlichiosis antibody is present in the sample.
