ubio quickVET Feline Parvovirus (Panleukopenia) Antigen Rapid Test Kit
is a qualitative immunochromatographic assay for the detection of Feline Parvovirus antigen in canine faeces in just 5-10 minutes.
Feline Parvovirus, is a contagious virus affecting cats. The disease, also called Feline Panleukopenia and Feline Distemper, is highly infectious and is spread from cat to cat through contact with an infected cat's bodily fluids, feces, or fleas. The virus primarily attacks the lining of the gastrointestinal tract, causing internal ulceration and, ultimately, total sloughing of the intestinal epithelium. This results in profuse and usually bloody diarrhea, severe dehydration, malnutrition, anemia, and often death. The virus causes a decrease in the cat's white blood cells, thus compromising its immune system.

ubio quickVET Feline Parvovirus Rapid test is a lateral flow assay designed so that even a technician with limited expertise can perform the test easily. The veterinarian or the technician uses the swab supplied along with the kit to draw faeces from the rectum or previously ejected sample. The swab is dipped in the diluent supplied with the assay and it is used to agitate the diluent so that enough faecal sample is extracted. The diluent is allowed to settle, and 3 drops are poured into the sample hole on the test card using the supplied dropper. Results can be read in just 5-10 minutes - the control line, marked C, should be always appear if the test procedure is performed properly and the test reagents are working. A red test line, marked T, will be visible if there are enough Feline Parvovirus antigen is present in the sample.

ubio quickVET Feline Parvovirus assay is available in 10-test, 5-test and single-test packs. The packs contain swabs, droppers, sample collection tube and assay diluent required to perform the test. One test card can be used for screening one animal, and it is disposed after use.
