ubio quickVET Zearalenone Rapid Test Kit is a qualitative immunochromatographic assay for the detection of Zearalenone in grain and feed in just 10 minutes.Zearalenone is a food-contaminating mycotoxin. It is a potent estrogenic metabolite produced by some Fusarium species. It is the primary toxin causing infertility, abortion or other breeding problems, especially in swine. Zearalenone is heat-stable and is found worldwide in a number of cereal crops, such as maize, barley, oats, wheat, rice, and sorghum and also in bread.

ubio quickVET Zearalenone Rapid Test is a lateral flow assay designed so that even a technician with limited expertise can perform the test easily. The veterinarian or the technician weighs out a 2.0g ground portion of the sample into the centrifugal tube provided along with the test. 4ml of plain water and 4ml of ethyl acetate is added into the centrifugal tube, the lid is closed, and then it is shaken for about 5 min. 2ml of the supernatant liquid is collected in a small beaker. The dried component at the bottom of the beaker is dissolved along with this. The extraxtion is then collected and 3 drops added to the sample hole. Results can be read in just 10 minutes - The presence of only one clear band, that in zone 'C', indicates a positive result. The presence of clear color bands in both the two zones 'T' and 'C' indicates negative result. If the control band is not visible in zone 'C', the test is considered invalid.

ubio quickVET Zearalenone Rapid Test assay is available in 10-test packs. The packs contain droppers, sample collection tubes, centrifugal tubes, and assay diluent required to perform the test. One test card can be used for screening one sample, and it is disposed after use.
