ubio excels in converting ideas into applicable technologies and affordable, accessible products. We are especially interested in mass-market biotech products, with special focus on diagnostics and healthcare.
Current research efforts at ubio are centered around development of low-cost multiplex diagnostic assays based on ubio's patent-pending low-cost biochip platform. These include work on cancer diagnostics funded by Department of Science and Industrial Research, Government of India, with focus on early cancer detection that can improve treatment efficacy manifold. ubio has entered research partnerships with leading institutions in biomedical and healthcare research, including Sree Chithra Tirunal Institute of Medical Science and Technology and Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum, with multiple collaborative projects in pipeline.
ubio is also actively working on developing low-cost veterinary rapid tests that can increase the use of diagnostics in animal healthcare in developing countries. These products would lower costs of animal care and farm management, and increase the accuracy and quality of treatment, driving down total costs for livestock based businesses.
